Raised in a life that involved frequent travel across Canada due to the distance between their parents, airports became symbolic of independence and self-assurance. For them, flying was more than just a mode of transport; it was a source of serenity and a reminder of their capabilities.
One of Laika's significant artworks is a testament to this lifelong connection with the skies. Crafted during a flight from Hong Kong, this piece features intricately detailed roses and marks the genesis of their unconventional artistic style. As they delved into the creation of this piece, they discovered a character within it, a small miracle of self-discovery.
