Émile Racine is the creator behind Racine, he is a multifaceted designer with a Bachelor's degree in industrial design earned in Montréal in 2018. Their fashion journey began in 2019 through the Ligne de Fuite mentorship program. Initially inspired by rave music and technical sports equipment, their designs have since evolved. They've developed unique manufacturing processes that influence their work, and they now operate as a freelance product designer, with a primary focus on accessories, though they still dabble in clothing.
Racine's design philosophy is rooted in the idea that creating should have an intrinsic purpose, a spiritual connection brought to life through tangible creations. They resist the urge to over-intellectualize their work, viewing it as a medium to deepen their spiritual connection and manifest the otherworldly.

What sets Industrial Fusion apart is the innovative blending of soft materials with hard or semi-rigid components, lending volume and structure to their pieces. They possess expertise in 3D printing and employ mechanical assemblies to create modular designs, allowing for easy part replacement. Their unique process for making shoes and accessories stands out, with a preference for leather due to its durability, workability, and quality.
The designer's early influences harken back to the underground music scene of the early 2010s, where genres like Jersey Club, Footwork, and Grime converged to shape today's electronic music landscape. While they don't currently follow art and fashion closely, they carry the essence of that era with them in their designs.
Racine has collaborated with influential artists in the music and fashion industry, including Lil Nas X, Uglyworldwide, and Dorian Electra, among others. They also maintain a showroom in Los Angeles and sell their creations through the online platform Ap0cene.
Sustainability and responsibility are at the heart of Racine’s brand. Their products, often one-of-a-kind or in small drops, are crafted with an artisanal touch. Rather than relying solely on recycling, the focus is on creating long-lasting items designed for easy repair or refurbishment. They aspire to inspire a new generation of designers to embrace modular fashion, promoting a return to small-scale, local, and sustainable production.

Racine envisions continued collaboration with artists, capturing their essence within each design. They're open to exploring new creative mediums beyond fashion, yet they also feel there's untapped potential in clothing and accessories. In the coming years, they aim to create another full collection from head to toe. Ultimately, their path is guided by what feels right, ready to follow wherever their creative journey leads.
